The projects I build on the side — to learn new tools, make something real, and get better at the job I love.

Writ.

A calm, distraction-free writing app — a blinking cursor and nothing else. Built for an audience of one: me.

  • Calm over capable. If a feature costs calm, it's out — no toolbars, no settings maze.
  • Voice over velocity. It should help me sound like me, not just write faster.
  • The cursor is the concept. The first thing you see is a blank page, ready.

What am I doing?

I like to plan. It comes from work — project management, then product management — and from books like The Bullet Journal Method. I set a rough vision for where I want to go, so the day-to-day has a direction. A small way of living on purpose.

Making it happen.

Things don't happen on their own. Work, side projects, the house — it all needs breaking into steps small enough to actually do. So I plan, in rounds, and keep moving.

The trail near home

Vision. Quarters. Horizons.

The cadence is simple: set the vision, break it into rough quarterly objectives, then sort everything into three horizons — steps small enough that a full job and family life can't derail them.
